I sing cabaret, or folk, or rock, or classical, or Broadway. I'm not a jazz singer. Is this workshop for me?
Singers of other genres can learn a lot from our sessions. Song interpretation and attention to lyrics crosses all genres. Microphone techniques helps any working with a band or combo. Working on rhythm is basic to all good singing. Swing gives us an ease that helps relax all styles. And you'll be surprised how easy it is to add improvisation to your skills set.
I don't speak French. Is this workshop for me?
The language of our workshop will be in English, the first language of jazz. But don't be surprised if you absorb some French while we meet up with native French speakers!
Where should I stay?
Our workshop sessions will be held in the Marais, the 4th arrondissement in the center of Paris. We're recommending several hotels and youth hostel in the area. If you want to share a room, we'll help you connect with other participants looking to share.
My spouse, friend, family member wants to come along. What will they do while we're in sessions?
The workshops are open to auditors and jazz tourists for a reduced fee. Or your traveling companion can join us only for the group outings to museums, dinners and music events on a pay-as-you-go basis. We have lots of recommendations for wonderful places to visit and tour in Paris, so the city is open to them while we work.
